Beef Curry Recipe

 


Ingredients

  1. Beef – 1 kg
  2. Chopped onion – 1 cup
  3. Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
  4. Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  5. Tomato paste – 1/2 cup
  6. Yogurt – 1/2 cup
  7. Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
  8. Chili powder – 1 tbsp
  9. Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  10. Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  11. Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  12. Bay leaves – 2
  13. Cinnamon sticks – 2 pieces
  14. Cardamom – 4
  15. Cloves – 4–5
  16. Salt – to taste
  17. Sugar – 1 tsp (optional)
  18. Oil – 1/2 cup
  19. Warm water – as needed


Cooking Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onions until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same oil, add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste, sauté until the raw smell disappears.
  4. Add tomato paste and cook until oil separates.
  5. Add turmeric, chili, coriander, cumin powder, and salt. Cook well.
  6. Add the beef and cook for 8–10 minutes until it changes color.
  7. Add yogurt, fried onions, and sugar. Mix well.
  8. Add warm water, cover, and cook on medium heat for 1–1.5 hours until tender.
  9. Finish with garam masala powder and stir well.

Serving

Serve hot with rice, pulao, khichuri, or flatbread.


Tips

  • Cook the spices well for better flavor
  • Pressure cooker reduces time to 25–30 minutes
  • Use warm water for better cooking
